C.A.L.B. (Cristalleria Artistica Lavorazione Brevettata) is a company established in 1951 in Colle di Val d'Elsa, Italy, where the finest crystal has been produced since the Middle Ages. The lamps they produced in the 1950s are extremely rare and appear on the market infrequently. This particular lamp was made as a TV lamp, but today it can be an excellent addition to any room. With its thick crystal base, pastel beige color, and brass details, it will leave no one indifferent. Have you ever heard of a TV lamp? In the 1950s, the presence of television in middle-class households was increasing. Even in its infancy, television was already showing itself as a central part of the modern home. "TV" was changing lives in the same way personal computers would three decades later, and like most technological inventions, there were concerns. Many believed that watching television in a darkened room could cause eye damage. Considering that consumers were accustomed to watching movies in darkened theaters, it was natural for the tradition to be transferred to home viewing. Moreover, the earliest televisions emitted rather dim light, making viewing in weak light almost a necessity. Soon, many televisions were equipped with a new adornment, a ceramic, illuminated figurine... the TV lamp. It seemed that the ambient light created by these lamps reduced eye strain and allowed viewing without guilt. TV lamps quickly became an essential addition to family television sets. Although they dominated as favorite household items for only about 10 years, their design significance still influences today. TV lamps were available in thousands of variations from hundreds of manufacturers, and although made of various materials, the majority were ceramic, coated with a shiny glaze in one of the popular colors of the decade. Most of these charming household sculptures depicted members of the animal kingdom (horses, deer, dogs, birds, domestic cats, and the ever-popular panther), while some depicted humans, and others were merely exercises in abstract design. BRONZE STATUE OF FRENCH POLITICIAN, 19th CENTURY

This bronze statue was created after 1889, a time when France was experiencing genuine enthusiasm surrounding the defense of Cherbourg. During the annual naval maneuvers, the coastal defense warships Le Tonnant and Le Vengeur, stationed off the coast of Cherbourg, successfully repelled a simulated attack by larger and more powerful vessels. This boosted national confidence at a time when there was widespread concern about naval strength — the so-called “naval scares.”
The connection of the statue to this event is confirmed by the inscription on the base, where the names of both ships are engraved. Such statues were displayed by prominent French figures in their salons as an expression of their political stance and as a symbol of their nation’s technological power.
Thus, this piece is not merely decorative, but a historical object reflecting a specific moment in French history, making it significant for both collectors and history enthusiasts.

Kazuhide Takahama (1930–2010) was born on the Japanese island of Kyushu. In 1953, he graduated in architecture from the Tokyo Institute of Technology.At the age of 27, he became a lecturer at the same university and got his first job as a designer: he was responsible for setting up the Japanese pavilion for the XI Triennale in Milan in 1957. On this occasion, he met Dino Gavina. This first meeting was a turning point in his career and the beginning of a fruitful collaboration and deep friendship. Before returning to Japan, Kazuhide Takahama designed Dino Gavina's Naeko sofa. While staying in Japan, he was a professor at the university and curator for architectural and design projects, but still maintained contacts with Gavina, who finally persuaded him to move to Italy. There were numerous collaborations with Italian design companies such as Gavina, Simon, Paradisoterrestre, B&B, Sirrah (later incorporated by Guzzini), to name just a few. His professional activity was not limited to designing furniture and lighting: he designed interior and exterior spaces and oversaw the renovation of private residences and public works. Among them, the facade and VIP lounge of the Guglielmo Marconi airport, and the canopies of the bus station in Bologna. This process created a delicacy that became popular among the aristocracy, particularly in Russia. During the October Revolution in 1917, many Russians fled to France, bringing their beloved delicacy to Europe. The French, enamored by this imported delicacy, recognized it as a prestigious and glamorous dish to be paired with champagne. Thus, caviar became an extremely popular luxury food, but its popularity also led to the near extinction of the best fish for caviar - beluga. Fortunately, its extinction was prevented in the mid-1950s when farmed caviar was successfully introduced to the market. Today, we can still enjoy this exquisite and prestigious delicacy. During those years, they sought to elevate their already well-established brand, as Rosso Antico was known as the prince of aperitifs at the time. They invited Dali to collaborate, and he designed these surrealist glass bottles, featuring his own paintings, which are also signed. The company intended these bottles to be collector's items, so they produced them in limited quantities between 1970 and 1972. Afterward, all the molds for making these bottles and the prints for the paintings were destroyed on June 30, 1972. Such statues of saints were primarily made for processions, and since naturalism has been highly desirable for religious images since the Baroque period, they were made for the purpose of dressing, as clothing adds a level of realism that is difficult to achieve solely through carving. The Catalan term for this type of statue is "Cap i Pota," which means "head and feet," as in such statues, the head, feet, and hands are intricately crafted, while the torso is not as much, as it was covered by clothing. This particular statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary was likely intended for home worship, as indicated by its size. The symbolism of the statue represents the Virgin Mary standing on a shining sphere – the moon, which symbolizes heavenly glory, while her foot rests on the head of a serpent, symbolizing sin over which Mary prevails. ANTIQUE BUST SCULPTURE

He trained as a sculptor at the Venetian Academy under L. Ferrari, then moved to Paris, where his Venetian education flourished, making him extremely popular. After Paris, he moved to Belgium, inspired by the sculptors there. However, homesickness drew him back to Venice, where he continued to dedicate himself to his craft. During that time, he contributed to the remodeling of Palazze Cavalli Franchetti, created a bust sculpture of Vittorio Emanuele II for the town hall in Pordenone, and crafted a relief for the facade of the Pietà church in Venice, which can still be found there today. In those years, he also received his first recognitions for his work, not only in his native Italy but also receiving awards in Vienna and Paris, with museums beginning to acquire his works. He was described as an "aristocratic artist" endowed with "an instinctive sense of measure, allowing him to be lively without being vulgar and strict without being harsh." In later years, he became known primarily for crafting prestigious tombstones, including one for Queen Margherita of Savoy. He passed away in 1926 in Venice, and his works remain part of museums today, highlighting his enduring creative energy, which is still appreciated to this day.
