SERVING TROLLEY BREMSHEY

240,00

Bremshey Dinett serving trolley from the 1950s, manufactured in Solingen, Germany.

The Bremshey Dinett serving trolley is a mid-century furniture icon, and now you have an excellent opportunity to make it part of your home. Made of chrome-plated metal and special palisander veneer panels, which were impregnated with synthetic resin and then compressed, creating a robust and nearly indestructible surface known as gerlinol. Bremshey serving trolleys were known for their exceptional quality and utility. As this was an incredibly innovative and unique trolley, its makers weren't afraid that someone would steal their idea. Therefore, earlier models don't bear the company's mark. When you bought it, you only received the company seal. The bottom had a label highlighting the trolley's advantages, promising the following useful features: "Resistant to water, fruit juices, alcoholic beverages, and kitchen acids; heat-resistant and nearly unbreakable. Maintains a shiny appearance even after years of use. Simply rinse with cold or warm water." Due to the age of this trolley, all these qualities can be confirmed. Despite its age, the trolley looks like new, with only a few signs of use on the chrome parts, adding to its charm. The versatility of this trolley makes it exceptionally useful. When not in use, it can be completely folded for easy storage. Partially folded, it becomes an interesting wheeled shelf. As depicted in advertisements from the 1950s and 1960s, it is a necessary addition to parties, offering a stylish way to serve food and drinks. It can be placed in a corner for cocktails or used in everyday life as an interesting side table or a unique plant stand. Dimensions: Open: 79 x 66 x 41 cm / Folded: 79 x 66 x 6.5 cm Weight: 6.7 kg The serving trolley is in excellent condition, with only some signs of use on the chrome parts.

ANTIQUE CHAIR

1.450,00

Antique chair, made in England between 1750 and 1850.

This chair is a typical example from the late 18th to early 19th century. It features a drawer under the seat, providing storage for various items. Due to its solidity, it's incredibly eye-catching, making it an excellent piece for highlighting and enriching a space. The chair itself boasts other wonderful details that only such an old piece can have. These include wooden pegs, which often replaced expensive iron nails in those times since they were hand-forged. Another detail is the beautifully patinated wood, which, upon touch, tells the story of its rich history. Most captivating is its shape, as the chair is not precisely formed and exhibits many asymmetrical details, lending it a playful naivety and confirming that it was entirely handmade, without the aid of mechanized tools. The story behind the chair with a drawer is also fascinating, as there are several versions. One story suggests that such chairs were made on farms in England for those assisting in lambing. The person would sit on this chair, waiting for the lambing, with a drawer under the seat containing a Bible and whisky to sustain them. These chairs were typically made by carpenters not accustomed to furniture-making, which explains the asymmetrical shape. Another tale suggests that such chairs were found in wealthier households, known as "salt thrones" as they stored salt, a prestigious spice at the time, in the drawer. Sitting on such a chair during a meal signified a special honor, as being seated above the salt was a mark of distinction. Thus, this chair is a true throne of history, capable of telling many stories of the past and inspiring us with its grandeur. Dimensions: 97 x 57 x 50 cm Weight: 18 kg The chair is excellently preserved.

A special, rare, vintage ergonomic chair in its original condition. It was used by employees of the Opcina tramway in Opicina, making it not only an interesting industrial chair but also one with a fascinating history and story. Ahrend introduced itself to the Dutch market with a series of chairs and tables called "doe meer" (do more). They were manufactured in the Tan Sad factory in England, known for producing the first ergonomic chairs. In 1920, comfort was a significant luxury, and factory workers often sat on benches without backrests. The "Do More" chair was, therefore, far ahead of its time. As seen in advertisements from that era, it promised workers: "The ideal chair for the working person. For use in offices, drafting rooms, laboratories, for operating office machines and telephones, etc. The right support for your work." Due to its specially designed frame – the seat is adjustable in height, and the backrest can be adjusted in height and angle – it is a chair on which you can sit for hours without any issues, while also encouraging proper posture. Dimensions: 82 x 54 x 46 cm Weight: 9.2 kg The chair is in good condition, and although it could be reupholstered, the original cover adds to its sentimental value.
