This bronze was one of five animal sculptures that Mène presented at the Paris Salon in 1845. The sculpture depicts a lamb nursing beneath a standing sheep wearing a bell around its neck. The bronze has a dark patina and was cast without a foundry mark, characteristic of earlier 19th‑century casts, suggesting that it was cast in Mène’s own foundry.

DEGE MASK
Dege Mask.
An African mask depicting the black monkey "Dege," from the Dogon people. The Dogon are an ethnic group in Mali. Masks crafted by this African tribe come in various styles, employing different geometric shapes in their designs, depending on the animal the mask is meant to represent. Most masks feature large eyes and stylized features, often painted or colored with various substances. The Dogon have been using masks since ancient times, particularly during the Dama ceremony, a memorial ritual for the deceased, believed to guide them to the realm of ancestors and restore order in the universe. These ceremonies often require a large attendance, with several hundred accompanying the deceased. Masks also appear in "baga-bundo" rites, performed before the burial of a Dogon male, which typically involve fewer participants. Inspiration for the masks comes from the animals found in their region, with common depictions including antelopes, rabbits, lions, hyenas, cows, birds, and monkeys. The specific mask represents the black monkey Dege. The Dogon typically use three types of monkey masks, distinguished only by color rather than shape. ERGONOMIC CHAIR TAN SAD
Ergonomic chair "Do More," manufactured by Tan Sad in England for Ahrend around 1920.
A special, rare, vintage ergonomic chair in its original condition. It was used by employees of the Opcina tramway in Opicina, making it not only an interesting industrial chair but also one with a fascinating history and story. Ahrend introduced itself to the Dutch market with a series of chairs and tables called "doe meer" (do more). They were manufactured in the Tan Sad factory in England, known for producing the first ergonomic chairs. In 1920, comfort was a significant luxury, and factory workers often sat on benches without backrests. The "Do More" chair was, therefore, far ahead of its time. As seen in advertisements from that era, it promised workers: "The ideal chair for the working person. For use in offices, drafting rooms, laboratories, for operating office machines and telephones, etc. The right support for your work." Due to its specially designed frame – the seat is adjustable in height, and the backrest can be adjusted in height and angle – it is a chair on which you can sit for hours without any issues, while also encouraging proper posture. Crafted from intricately engraved glass, with brass accents adding the finishing touch, these lamps are truly special. Pietro Chiesa, born in 1892 into the renowned Ticino artistic family, opened his own glass workshop, Bottega di Pietro Chiesa, in 1921 after apprenticing with furniture designer Giovan Battista Giannotta. He blended exceptional modernity with high technical knowledge in his work, creating stained glass for the Trieste stock exchange, the motor ship Victoria, and the transatlantic Conte di Savoia. In 1932, Gio Ponti invited him to join Fontana Arte as artistic director, a role that allowed him to express his creativity by designing over a thousand different items, including furniture, tables, lamps, windows, and artworks. Chiesa passed away in Paris in 1948. Fontana Arte originated from Luigi Fontana's glass plate manufacturing company established in 1881, which achieved great success in the construction sector, becoming one of Italy's largest glass producers. In the early 1930s, Fontana aimed to venture ambitiously into the artistic glass and decor market, hiring renowned Italian designer Gio Ponti to assist. Thus, in 1933, Fontana Arte was born, merging the same year with Pietro Chiesa's company, Bottega di Pietro Chiesa. Gio Ponti and Pietro Chiesa became the company's artistic directors. They quickly gained recognition and esteem for their refined glass products, including stained glass, lighting, mirrors, and even glass furniture. In the post-war years, amid economic turmoil, they continued crafting prestigious pieces, primarily for hotels and offices. In 1954, Max Ingrand took over as artistic director, ushering the company into a new era of success. With his creations, they regained prestige and acclaim. Fontana Arte went through several ups and downs but managed to survive to the present day. In 1998, Fontana Arte was even awarded the ADI Compasso d'Oro for its significant contribution to Italian design heritage. Today, they continue their design endeavors, collaborating with many 21st-century architects and designers. TORTURE COLLAR
Torture collar from the second half of the 18th century.
An interesting object from bygone times that reminds us of the dark past of humanity. Torture devices like this one were popular since the Middle Ages and were used to humiliate, torture, and control convicts and slaves. The collar was placed around a person's neck, preventing normal movement, lying down, and overall comfort. Similar collars were also used on dogs, but without a lock, only with a buckle. In this case, the collar served to protect a dog guarding livestock from potential wolf attacks. He was described as an "aristocratic artist" endowed with "an instinctive sense of measure, allowing him to be lively without being vulgar and strict without being harsh." BRONZE STATUE OF FRENCH POLITICIAN, 19th CENTURY

This bronze statue was created after 1889, a time when France was experiencing genuine enthusiasm surrounding the defense of Cherbourg. During the annual naval maneuvers, the coastal defense warships Le Tonnant and Le Vengeur, stationed off the coast of Cherbourg, successfully repelled a simulated attack by larger and more powerful vessels. This boosted national confidence at a time when there was widespread concern about naval strength — the so-called “naval scares.”
The connection of the statue to this event is confirmed by the inscription on the base, where the names of both ships are engraved. Such statues were displayed by prominent French figures in their salons as an expression of their political stance and as a symbol of their nation’s technological power.
