On the lamp’s base, there are two buttons, one for turning on and the other for turning off, due to the fact that at the beginning of the production of fluorescent lights, they did not yet have starters.
Dazor was founded in 1938 by Harry Dazey and Professor Albert Perbal from the University of Washington. The precisely balanced lamp revolutionized the lamp industry in the 1940s. Dazor was also the first manufacturer to combine the technology of a portable work lamp with fluorescent bulbs. The company still produces similar lighting to this day. This particular model, Model 1000, was produced in various colors between 1940 and 1960. Its use in Europe was most widespread in Antwerp, Belgium, in the diamond industry, but it was generally a popular lamp among architects and other craftsmen who require a lot of light in their work.
