It provides abundant, even light without shadows over a wide area. It features a patented adjustable arm for smooth and easy positioning of the lamp in any position. The counterbalance spring is fully enclosed to be completely safe from dust. The main part of the base can move back and forth, as well as rotate 180 degrees horizontally. The upper part of the neck can also move up and down. The lampshade can move horizontally for 180 degrees. It can also move up and down and around with circular motions. There are two buttons on top of the lampshade, one for turning on and the other for turning off.

The company Dazor was founded in 1938 by Harry Dazey and Professor Albert Perbal from the University of Washington. The precisely balanced lamp revolutionized the lighting industry in the 1940s. Dazor was also the first manufacturer to combine portable work light technology with fluorescent bulbs. The company still produces similar lighting fixtures today. The specific model, model 2324, was produced in several versions and colors between 1940 and 1990. Its use in Europe was most widespread in Antwerp, Belgium, in the diamond industry.
