ERGONOMIC CHAIR TAN SAD

320,00 €

Ergonomic chair "Do More," manufactured by Tan Sad in England for Ahrend around 1920.

A special, rare, vintage ergonomic chair in its original condition. It was used by employees of the Opcina tramway in Opicina, making it not only an interesting industrial chair but also one with a fascinating history and story. Ahrend introduced itself to the Dutch market with a series of chairs and tables called "doe meer" (do more). They were manufactured in the Tan Sad factory in England, known for producing the first ergonomic chairs. In 1920, comfort was a significant luxury, and factory workers often sat on benches without backrests. The "Do More" chair was, therefore, far ahead of its time. As seen in advertisements from that era, it promised workers: "The ideal chair for the working person. For use in offices, drafting rooms, laboratories, for operating office machines and telephones, etc. The right support for your work." Due to its specially designed frame – the seat is adjustable in height, and the backrest can be adjusted in height and angle – it is a chair on which you can sit for hours without any issues, while also encouraging proper posture. Dimensions: 82 x 54 x 46 cm Weight: 9.2 kg The chair is in good condition, and although it could be reupholstered, the original cover adds to its sentimental value.

ANTIQUE WRITING DESK

6.400,00 €

Writing desk, crafted in 1885 in the vicinity of Ptuj, is opulent, top-notch, and rare—adjectives that aptly describe this exceptional writing desk made in the Neo-Renaissance style.

However, the most extraordinary aspect of this piece lies in its history. This is a desk with Slovenian origins, created by the hands of a Slovenian master, as indicated by inscriptions on the backside of the drawer. Moreover, it has traversed its entire history on Slovenian soil, as evidenced by a stamp on the inner side of the door, where we can read that, at some point in its past, it was part of a municipal office. Thus, this desk is, in essence, a part of Slovenian furniture heritage, making it a rare gem even in the collection of the most discerning antique collectors. Nevertheless, it is, first and foremost, a splendid desk ready to shine in your office or a corner of your home where you enjoy creating, writing, and working. Undoubtedly, it is a top-notch acquisition and an exceptional opportunity for anyone who truly values Slovenian artisanal heritage and for those whose faces light up with a smile at the sight of such an extraordinary piece of furniture. Dimensions: Exact dimensions are not specified. Weight: 28 kg The desk has been meticulously restored with precision and a nod to the old masters. The restoration pays homage to our ancestors, preserving the desk's history and the traces that time has left on it. SERVING TROLLEY BREMSHEY

240,00 €

Bremshey Dinett serving trolley from the 1950s, manufactured in Solingen, Germany.

The Bremshey Dinett serving trolley is a mid-century furniture icon, and now you have an excellent opportunity to make it part of your home. Made of chrome-plated metal and special palisander veneer panels, which were impregnated with synthetic resin and then compressed, creating a robust and nearly indestructible surface known as gerlinol. Bremshey serving trolleys were known for their exceptional quality and utility. As this was an incredibly innovative and unique trolley, its makers weren't afraid that someone would steal their idea. Therefore, earlier models don't bear the company's mark. When you bought it, you only received the company seal. The bottom had a label highlighting the trolley's advantages, promising the following useful features: "Resistant to water, fruit juices, alcoholic beverages, and kitchen acids; heat-resistant and nearly unbreakable. Maintains a shiny appearance even after years of use. Simply rinse with cold or warm water." Due to the age of this trolley, all these qualities can be confirmed. Despite its age, the trolley looks like new, with only a few signs of use on the chrome parts, adding to its charm. The versatility of this trolley makes it exceptionally useful. When not in use, it can be completely folded for easy storage. Partially folded, it becomes an interesting wheeled shelf. As depicted in advertisements from the 1950s and 1960s, it is a necessary addition to parties, offering a stylish way to serve food and drinks. It can be placed in a corner for cocktails or used in everyday life as an interesting side table or a unique plant stand. Dimensions: Open: 79 x 66 x 41 cm / Folded: 79 x 66 x 6.5 cm Weight: 6.7 kg The serving trolley is in excellent condition, with only some signs of use on the chrome parts.
