Bookend, made around 1940 in Italy.

Champagne bucket for Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, manufactured by the French company Saint Hilaire Paris in the 1970s.

This silver-plated champagne bucket was produced for the prestigious champagne house Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin, as evidenced by the engraved signature on the bucket itself. Pieces like this were often supplied to luxury hotels, fine restaurants, and wine cellars, where they were used for the elegant presentation and service of this celebrated beverage.

Over the decades, the silver-plated surface has developed a beautiful iridescent patina, which is considered an important part of the character, history, and authenticity of such pieces.

Brass mortar, made in the late 19th century.

A massive mortar that is a replica of 17th-century mortars. Such large mortars were primarily used in the 17th century in pharmacies and monasteries for grinding large quantities of herbs. In the 19th century, these replicas became mainly status symbols in wealthy bourgeois kitchens, although some still found their way into pharmacies.

The presented mortar is richly decorated with relief mascarons, garlands, and the Roman date MDC XXX (1630). It also includes the original matching pestle for grinding, which is likewise heavy and made of brass.

Today, this luxurious mortar can serve as an exceptional decorative and functional piece in your kitchen or professional space.
