Similar lamps, adorned with carved cameos, gained popularity as souvenirs during the Grand Tour in the late 19th century. Their appeal endured over the years, making them sought-after tourist mementos in the mid-20th century as well. The lamps in question feature an image of Mary with Jesus inside, suggesting they were likely purchased during a pilgrimage. When illuminated, they emit a beautiful light.
